Had this thought from so long time that why do we need a religion? The question comes from hell lot of thoughts collected through conversations converting to debates, discussions converting to fights and casual talk becoming a chance to know a man's outlook on rebels and fights for a cause or to do something for the religion.
The ultimate question comes after knowing from formal news sources that why is this fight, why those blames, why those fingers pointing out on others on the basis of something being said by someone in holy books. Is the religion is limited to holy books, what if not everything lies in that book, who knows? There are no facts.
Well, I won't say I have the answer but I have a probable reason. It's a human mind; remember those times when you ask yourself a question, what is a purpose of you? Why are you here in the world and what you want to do? You want an answer and you start looking, listening and start paying attention to each of the minor detail around you and wherever you go in state of numbness back in your sub-conscious. That time and onward you start searching for an answer. This answer is required and you want it but why? It is just the way human mind work where it needs a belief, a sense of belief and achievement later.
Why do we see that most over achievers go through psychological issues. It is just that they already understand that don't have the answer. The answer for question is belief. They do not have anything to believe in.
Probably religion is the way which leads people with some firm belief. Whether the belief is right or wrong, let's just not get into that for now but for now what I understand of religion is that person searching for an answer just want to believe in its saying which is over any logical or illogical explanation.
